Ultra kidpreneurs appear on CBBC’s Newsround for Black History Month!

Team Ultra were delighted to have three of our young entrepreneurs featured on popular kids TV programme Newsround on CBBC as part of their coverage of Black History Month!

Cali (founder of Biankha & Friends) Malik (founder of I AM KING) and Kenya (founder of I AM QUEEN) all have launched their own business and shared their stories and purpose as young entrepreneurs, as well as how they aspire to positively impact the black community.

Speaking during the coverage, Cali who started Biankha & Friends to empower, motivate and inspire, in particular, young girls of colour, after someone made fun of her hair said she hopes “young girls would feel inspired to love their natural selves and be proud of who they are.”

Siblings Malik and Kenya both have their own motivational clothing brands which aim to inspire, build self-esteem and confidence. Speaking during the segment, Kenya stated that “learning about my history and being educated on that as a young black female” helped her believe in herself. Malik also shared shared inspirational sentiments stating “the work of black kings are not recognised” so he chose to “shine a light on people that might not even be talked about”.

Ultra Education was founded to inspire positive and lasting change in the lives of all young people but particularly focuses on young people who would otherwise suffer from the disadvantage of their starting point; and those from black and ethnic minority communities.

Founder of Ultra Education, Julian ‘The Ultrapreneur’ Hall shared his thoughts on the young entrepreneurs being “inspirational and shining examples of the ethos Ultra Education’s mission in doing what they love and positively impacting the world through entrepreneurship.”

Ultra Education will be celebrating the work of our young entrepreneurs, as well as spotlighting the amazing, rich history of black entrepreneurship throughout Black History Month!
